The Vodacom “code-like girl” boot camp is back! This initiative aims to address the underrepresentation of women in STEM fields by providing a structured educational experience for disadvantaged girls. Its goal is to create a digital, inclusive, and sustainable future for the entirety of the continent. The goal is to create a talent pipeline that addresses our present and future skill shortages by exposing disadvantaged girls to coding basics and career paths that will give them the current and future skills needed.

The impact of this initiative!

Nearly 6,000 female high school students have been trained under Vodacom’s Code Like a Girl initiative. Ever since its launch with just 2451 girls, it has seen growth every year. The initiative has given them coding skills and exposure to the tech industry.

Since they will have been exposed to and had access to such training, this will be a major factor when it comes time for them to choose their future routes.

How will this programe work?

Participants can choose to attend the programe in person or online through a hybrid format that consists of a series of 5-day coding boot camps.
